A musical instrument pickup comprising a plurality of coil-wire wrappings, each coil having a particular geometric cross-section. Each coil-wire wrapping is positioned around a pole piece. Related embodiments exhibiting noise cancellation features are also disclosed.

A system relating to improving the usefulness of one or more electronic pianos by providing a multifunctional outer housing. Such outer housing is assembled substantially from modular components, preferably adapted for rapid set-up and breakdown. The housings are designed to generally resemble traditional acoustic pianos. The system incorporates a number of hardware components including an onboard computer device adapted to query and display information contained within a music-related database. A method of commercial distribution is also disclosed.

A mobile percussion-instrument field rack that holds a multiplicity of percussion instruments such that one or more percussionists can play at the same time. The field rack is foldable and easily transported, preferably in between the seats of a bus. It has large wide wheels attached to a center portion of the rack with a fixed stable wheelbase which is independent of swinging and height-adjustable side wings of the rack. It is exceptionally stable and comprises a distinct upper and lower framework which utilizes a two-point clamping system for improved securing of the instruments.
